CINDERELLA
III IS OUT ON DVD
The all new DVD with a musical
score by Joel McNeely is finally out today : CINDERELLA III A TWIST
IN TIME. The music is composed of a great enchanting and rousing symphonic score
along with some nice orchestral songs in the great tradition of
Disney.
You can hear some extracts of the music on the official
website of the movie throughout
the different menus and in the Trailer and Clips section which
includes a 8 minutes Sneak Peek with plenty of score in it.
Unfortunately,
no soundtrack album will be released on CD, but 7 tracks
are dowloadable on some mp3 stores, including one track from Joel
called "A Love for All Time (Love Theme)". It's very sad
it's only mp3 and not a regular CD, and sadder still that there's only one track
composed by Joel McNeely.

THE FOX
AND THE HOUND 2 SOUNDTRACK RELEASE
It's been almost 2 long years since the last album containing some Joel McNeely music was released, and today is being released the latest soundtrack from Joel McNeely, for the movie THE FOX AND THE HOUND 2 (the movie release on DVD is still planned for December 12). The music seems very blue grass oriented like Joel told us some weeks ago. Not much score on the soundtrack though and not a typical symphonic score like Joel used to compose for Disney sequels. Like the cover strongly suggests it, the CD is much more a Rythm & Blues stars album allowing Joel to shine with an unusual style in his career. Be sure to check this out anyway !

TINKERBELL
: MUSIC FOR A MOVIE & A BALLET
Some preliminary music has been already recorded
for a teaser of the direct-to-video CGI animated movie TINKERBELL.
You can watch this teaser here
to see the look of the CGI and listen
to Joel’s early
music for the movie and a song by Canadian artist Loreena McKennitt
for which Joel wrote the orchestral arrangement.
The movie is set to be released on DVD in October
2007.
Besides, Joel has been asked to write music for a Tinkerbell
live action ballet, in addition to his work on the movie.

CINDERELLA
III RECORDING SESSIONS
Joel has just finished to record the score to the Disney direct-to-video animated movie CINDERELLA III : A TWIST IN TIME with the 82 pieces Hollywood Studio Symphony orchestra. The film is directed by Frank Nissen, the same director Joel collaborated with on POOH’S HEFFALUMP MOVIE. The movie is coming on DVD in February 2007. No score album has been mentioned yet.

THE
FOX AND THE HOUND 2 CONFIRMED
Joel McNeely’s THE FOX AND THE HOUND 2 will be released on DVD on December 12 2006 and Joel confirmed it will get a soundtrack album with songs by various Nashville artists and 2 or 3 score tracks. Joel explained that his large orchestral score has been influenced by the blue-grass style of the songs. Album coming from Walt Disney Records on November 14 2006, according to CD Universe.

CONCERT MUSIC TO BE PERFORMED IN HOUSTON IN 2007

Joel will conduct some of the chamber music he’s written with the Houston Chamber Orchestra in May 2007. He’s also planning to get released a Concert music CD containing his own works and various film composers’ concert music, including John Williams.

ABOUT BERNARD HERRMANN CONCERT
Now the official Barbican
Center's site announces
that musical direction for the concert is from Tom Waits and Ornette Coleman
and that a late screening of PSYCHO will be showing at 22:30 after
the concert.

to the program : MARNIE, THE TROUBLE WITH HARRY,
TWILIGHT ZONE, FAHRENHEIT 451 and the complete Mount Rushmore sequence

BERNARD HERRMANN CONCERT : NIGHTMARE ROMANCE
Joel McNeely is going
to conduct the BBC Concert Orchestra for an outstanding Bernard
Herrmann world premiere concert
in the Barbican Center, London, on 17th March. Joel McNeely
is now the most renowned conductor of Bernard Herrmann's music and
his program will feature various scores from his already prestigious discography
such as PSYCHO, VERTIGO, CITIZEN KANE as well as scores
Joel never performed on CD such as NORTH BY NORTHWEST
and TAXI DRIVER.
Famous musicians like saxophonist David Sanborn
(LETHAL WEAPON), Bill Frisell, Gil Goldstein and musical director
and bassist Greg Cohen will participate to this event, and some rare
footage of Bernard Herrmann could be seen as a visual testimony
to one of the most talented composers of the middle of
the 20th Century.

DISNEY SCORE : TINKERBELL THE MOVIE
According to Music from the Movies, Joel should score two of the next Disney animated sequels for 2006 : TINKERBELL THE MOVIE and THE FOX AND THE HOUND II (but they're wrong about this one : it is not a coming project for the moment, nothing's been signed yet). TINKERBELL would be a CGI movie about the Pixie Hollow world in Neverland and you can look at a first glimpse of the movie to come in the design of the Disney Fairies site.

SCORE CD FOR LILO & STITCH 2
The album tracklisting of LILO & STITCH 2 sadly doesn't contain any of Joel McNeely's cues. This is only a second "Island Favorites" album and not an official soundtrack (the first movie had received both treatments : the soundtrack with few score and songs and a first Island Favorites album). No score album will be coming out.

2 DVD is out with music by Joel McNeely for his 5th Disney animated
movie sequel. And he only gets the best ones ! Let's hope for a score
release from Walt Disney Records...
